At Small Savers Montessori, our Primary classroom supports children ages three to five in developing independence, curiosity, and confidence. This mixed-age environment allows younger children to learn from older peers while exploring key Montessori areas, including Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Science, Geography, and Culture. Art activities encourage creativity and self-expression. Daily outdoor play is included in both morning and afternoon schedules, with optional weekly movement classes by Power Tots. In the Toddler 1 room, your child engages with their environment and learns via Montessori “work cycles,” uninterrupted periods where they choose their own activities, clean up, and choose a new one. This process allows for deep concentration and develops independence and self-discipline. The prepared Montessori environment encourages your child's coordination and development of fine and gross motor skills, language development, and independence in your toddler. Our Toddler 2 Room is guided by two Co- Lead Teachers and supported by one Assistant Teacher who supports each child’s daily needs and growth. This program serves your child in his/her natural desire to gain mastery of their environment by offering opportunities that encourage the child to learn in a methodical way that maximizes absorption. Children learn through purposeful, hands-on exploration rather than direct instruction. Carefully designed materials and activities allow each child to progress at their own pace, developing concentration, problem-solving, and a love of learning. The classroom includes rich areas for discovery: language and reading, math, practical life, art, sensorial exploration, and nature study.
